UPDATED - HP Photography Contest Poll #1

Love the photos!
Thanks for letting us vote!
congrats to all the finalists!
First off; Congrats to all the finalists.
Secondly i feel like there is a major flaw in this voting system. I understand that this was all stated in the rules beforehand but I wasn't aware of how this was going to work until now...

After inspecting all the different pictures i realized that only a few are for the same question. How can we compare each picture when they each have a different subjectiveness?

I feel as if there should have been a first round for each question with those winners moving onto a final vote of best overall.

I concur.
I would have liked a chance to vote on them first by category (eg, which question did they answer) and then when those rounds were done, vote once more on one winner from every category. This method seems a bit short-sighted.
[this is good]
yeah for instance i really think that the sparklers is a beautiful portrait and would have done really well in "joy" or "picture of me" but may not be the best portrait in "extraordinary"

i think i wouldn't find this irritating if they picked 1 from each prompt instead of having a couple that are from the same prompt and ignoring some of the others.
I agree, definitely.

Hello everyone,

Thanks so much for your comments. We will definitely take this into consideration for the next 3 polls. You have all been very helpful.

Thanks for the tip. We didn't consider this approach but think it definitely improves the overall quality of the contest. We will try to apply to the next three polls.

Thanks again for your interest!
Great variety!
I have a question.

In the question that I posted my picture for, it asked "show us a photo that needs explanation". No where did it say that it had to be a photo that was taken by the entrant.

Why is that?
I love pictures with children!
